Last Saturday, RVCA held yet another awesome art show/party. This time the guest of honor was Detroit's own, Matt Gordon. Matt's been doing RVCA stuff for a bit now, and I've actually had the opportunity to go on a trip with him and get to know him a bit, so let me be the first to tell you that Matt's an awesome guy...no homo. Actually, Matt's responsible for one of my all time favorite road story's. I'm not going to get into it other than saying this, have you ever woke up scared...well, Matt has at least once in Barcelona. Anyway, here's a look at the party.

After the party, Keegan, and his friend Jess stayed at my house. But before showing up, they decided to stop off and get a dozen doughnuts...lucky me.

Besides being pretty waisted, Jess was ruling it pretty hard by telling the funniest storys. One of them was about how he hated cats for 20 yrs of his life (he's 23 by the way), but is now ok with them. His reasoning for not liking cats was, "my dad always hated cats and he's cool, so I just always hated them too". Makes perfect sense to me.

Last Saturday night, RVCA and Emerica had a little B-Day bash for our buddy Leo. Yea, it was a few days before his actual birthday, but do you think that that's going to stop everyone from celebrating the fact that Leo was born. Besides, who cares about actual dates any more anyways...I know i don't.

The day after the Lakai video, and I'm back out in the mix of things. Today RVCA had a signing down at the "Bling Fest", with the likes of Kevin "spanky" Long, Josh Harmony, Austin Stephens, Ethan Fowler, Keegan Sauder, Nestor Judkins, & Raymond Molinar. Here's some pics for your viewing pleasure.

It's the day of the big premier, so we decided to beat the traffic and head out to LA a little early.

First things, first. Keegan came by and picked up his ticket that I had for him. Oh yea, he also brought Rick McCrank by to rip the ramp a bit. Here's some of the rip-itude.

Uh-oh, to rival magazine heavyweights...I hope there's no trouble.

Like I said earlier, we had an agenda...and that agenda was to get some, weeeeeeeeeeee's.

Mild Ride, Day Six...For Some.

Just when you thought it was all over, there where still two mild riders out there reeking havoc all over the mean streets of Southern California. That's right, the mildest of the mild riders, Ethan & A-Bomb finally made it back...and it only took them a whole extra day longer than everybody else.

Today was the last day of the ride...well, not exactly for Ethan and Adam, but I'll get to that in a minute. The remainder of the ride was Atascadero to Costa Mesa, which was pretty much a joke for us and our hogs. Needless to say, not even some rain could slow our role. Now, let's get back to Ethan & Adam. Basically, we all started out of Atascadero at the same time, but being that Adam & Ethan are new to the power of the Vespa's they decided to hang back a bit and go at there own pace. Anyway, a few hours later, and they decided to take a highway that they for some reason thought would be a short cut...guess what, it wasn't. Needless to say, they got caught in a pretty heavy storm and had to get a hotel in Ventura. So it looks like there "Mild Ride" continues on...for another day at least.

Mild Ride, Day Four, Part Two.

Along the way back we ran into some Harley's, so Keegan weaved thru them like it was nothing. That's him in the red jacket.

After the demo and signing, we had to stick around because there was a contest there, and Austin and Harmony where the celebrity judges. Needless to say, this is what it looks like when you dirve all day, and then have to wait around at a contest for hours after doing a long ass demo.

Lucky us, just before the finals, we where treated to this weird rap band. It's like a bizzaro Beasty Boys rip off.

Mild Ride, Day Four, Part One

Day four, and we're out of SF, and heading to Atascadero...Vespa style.

This has definitely turned into the morning ritual, and with the kind of power that these 250cc beasts wield you better believe we have to fill up on a daily.

I bet if this was a black and white photo shot by Ed I could retire off this thing.

Me and the Harms dolled up our bikes for the ride out of SF. I got the Hula Dash dancer, and he got the Pink Flamingo...that's how gnarly bikers do it.

Day three, and we're still running strong on our mighty steed. Actually, today was the first real day of hittin' the streets hard, and when I say hard, I mean real hard. Also, todays the last day with Leo on board. We hate to see him go, but he's got a prior engagement back home. You'll be missed old friend, but not forgotten. Here's some photo's of the day.

Mild Ride, Day Two, Part Two

After getting sweet at the Dirby Park, we headed out to S.F., via the 9 North to go check out the RVCA S.F. art show.

After sitting around and watching all the fun we where having, Patrick decides to sack up and get some.

9 North rips, plain and simple. Definitely the best ride of the trip so far.

Day two, and Bon Jovi is still our co-pilot...San Luis Obispo to Santa Cruz to San Francisco. That's right, we where nailing it so hard that Josh and Leo each earned themselves some tickets. They better be careful though, cause this is supposed to be the Mild Ride, and not one of those other ones.

Started the day off early...for skateboarders that is, 8am wake up call.

Being that it was drizzling, the Harmster got all his gear out and on. All but his moccasins...cause you know Josh likes to keep it real.

Like I said earlier, Leo & Josh got tickets, so we pulled off the freeway to wait. While waiting, Keegan decided to water some beautiful flowers.

The great Jon Bon Jovi put it best when he said, "Im a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride", because that's exactly what went down today. We where like beautiful animals, devouring every bit of road that lay beneath our 250cc steel horses. I'll tell you this much my friends, the road was ours today, and no one could deny that. It was as if there was a little Bon Jovi in all of us, and I truly believe that he is in all of us, we just have to believe.

Pre Mild Ride

So it's the day before the big ride, and the first thing that must happen is pick Keegan up from LAX at 7:30am. After meeting up with Jamie Hart (Vans TM) for some breakfast, we make a quick stop off at my house to grab my helmet. Then from there, right to Vespa for the goods. After that it was a long day of getting used to the machines.

Instead of us getting dropped off and bringing two at a time back, we opted for the buddy system. Yea, it might have taken twice as long, but it sure was a lot of fun...no homo.

We decided to give the freeway a try, so we headed over to the warehouse with Leo.

These 250cc hogs aren't the only ones who need to fuel up, so we headed over to In-N-Out for some fuel of our own. That's right, we went thru the drive thru. There was no way we where getting off these things, not even for a minute.

Even though I was out of the office, it doesn't mean I wasn't on the job.

That's right kiddies, with all the madness going on out there, and everybody going so "wild". For instance, Emerica has the "Wild in the Streets", V-Co has there "Wild in the Parks", and Joe Francis has been making Girls go Wild for a years now. The whole moniker "Wild", is pretty much turning into the new Mountain Dew for skateboarding. That's why we at RVCA thought we should tone it down a bit, and bring it back down to earth with something Mild...therefore, I give to you, the "Mild Ride". What we're doing is, riding seven beautiful Vespa's up to San Francisco to enjoy a RVCA art show at the new RVCA Retail store on the corner of Haight & Ashbury, and on the way up (and back down), hit up some skate parks and spots. So what I'm getting at is this...if you feel like meeting up and seeing some of your favorite RVCA skaters, feel free to join in.

Gift's From Moscow

Just because it's been almost a month since we've been back from Moscow doesn't mean that it's run past the cut off to distribute gifts. Besides, I've never even heard of a gift cut off before, and I truly believe that you could give someone a Christmas gift a year later and the person receiving it would be just as stoked to get it. So with that, he may not have been there, but it doesn't mean that we weren't thinking about him. That's right, after spotting this little gem in Moscow, and knowing Kevin's love of the Giraffe, I knew that I couldn't pass up on buying this painting for him.

Weep Fest 2007

So here's the deal. For some reason or another, I was lucky enough to get a bunch of Morrissey tickets for one of the 10 nights that he was playing in L.A...and when I say a bunch, I mean it (30 to be exact). After thinking for a bit, I was faced with a hard question...should I just go solo and save all 29 tickets to help dry my tears from the sweet, sweet music that Morrissey makes? Or should I share them with friends, that way we could all cry together? Man, that was a tough one, but finally after many hours I had made my decision. I decided to cry the night away with my friends. Right after coming to my decision, I was immediately faced with another problem, or so I thought. Having 30 tickets was pretty over whelming, and I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to get rid of them all. Silly me right, turns out I was dead wrong. Cause once I started making phone calls, they pretty much disappeared like candy on halloween night. Needless to say, all the tickets where handed out, and I was lucky enough to weep the night away with 29 friends. How cool is that?

Harrison Harmony

That's right, it's officially, official. Josh Harmony is the worlds coolest dad. I mean seriously, who wouldn't want Josh to be there dad, I know I would. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if it's to late to be adopted? I've never really heard of any sort of cut off, or age limit. I would be so low mantenance to my new parents, Jenna and Josh. I would barely complain about homework, and I'd even do my house hold chores (eventually). Hey guy's, what do you say? When you finally get home from the hospital and read this, could you please really sit down and consider this. I promise to be the best adopted son ever, and I know for sure that I would be the best older brother to Harrison. Just think about it, when me and Harrison are struttin' down the halls at school, for sure no one's going to mess with him...you know why? Because his older bro-ham will be right by his side, watching his back. He'd be Goose to my Maverick, Jeff Spicoli to my Brad Hamilton, Han Solo to My Chewbacca...you get what I'm trying to say here, right pops. In other words, we'd be inseparable, and you know why? Because I've always wanted a little brother, and nothings ever going to happen to my little bro...no way, not on my watch. Oh yea, before I forget. There is one last, really miner thing that I think you guy's should probably know. I've kind of got a family of my own. That's right dad, you and mom are grandparent's. How stoked are you guy's? You're going to love your new step daughter and grandson, I know I do. Oh yea, this also makes my baby bro an uncle already, that's awesome! Anyway, I hope you guy's get home safe and soon from the hospital, because I'm really starting to miss you guy's. So with this said, I really hope you guy's consider this whole adoption thing, because I would be extremely proud to call myself a Harmony. Oh well, I guess if guy's decide not to adopt me, there won't be any hard feelings. Besides, there's alway's that Jolie-Pitt thing happening, and that kid Matix seems like he's got a pretty sweet little deal over there...I wonder if he need's a wing man/older brother.

Let me be the first one to apologize for this political message, but you'll thank me later. That's right kid's, if you care about your future you better get out and vote Ron Paul for President. Not only is he pretty much the only one running that truly cares about the constitution, but he's also the only politician that absolutely wants us 100% out of Iraq and any other bulls@#t war being held or started over oil. The bottom line is, if you don't want to be drafted to go fight for oil, you better go vote. I know what you're saying, "but dude, he's a republican". I know, I was concerned about that as well, but everything I've heard from Ron Paul has been right on, and I really think you're going to have to trust me on this one.

Yesterday I took a little field trip down to The Skateboard Mag., so I figured since I was going down there I might as well call up the Youssefpour. Being that he's unemployable, I figured he'd have nothing going on and would be down for some hang time...guess what, I was right.

Well the trip is officailly over, but I've got a few photo's left to share with you.

The last night before heading home, and as usual, everyone chillin in the kitchien/my room. This is right after seeing Iggy & the Stooges.

Dear Russia,

I've done a lot of hard thinking about what happened concerning Austin's bed. I want you to know that everything that I'm about to say is coming from the bottom of my heart. I know that it will be very difficult for you to accept my apology, but I want you to think about our friendship as well.

The main reason I decided to write you this letter is because our friendship is too valuable to lose over a silly misunderstanding. I feel that I could have handled the situation in a better way, and I admit that I was wrong for telling you that you were dumb, but the reason for that is I did not know that the couch bed fully extended out and acted as a normal size bed, and you never stepped in to let me know this. You just sat there while Austin slept with his legs hanging off onto a chair. I guess I should have just known better, and for this I am truly sorry. I mean come on, what was i thinking, I've seen the Russian people, and I know that they are a big and powerul people that rule and quite possibly sleep with an iron fist.

We where going to try and get a early start, but turns out the Russian Gods where not in our favor, they decided to piss rain down upon us to spare there precious skate spots. So what's the next best thing to skating? That's right, a Russian Flea Market. For the most part, it's pretty much like a swap meet back home, but with the occasional exception of Military weapons and gear...in other words, very kick ass.

Started off in my room, as it always does.

It only took till the fourth morning to get them, but they're finally here...towels, beautiful towels. That's right, this morning was the first time since being here that I didn't have to use one of my old t-shirts to dry off after a shower. Not that it's the worst thing in the world or anything, after all, we did get a free trip to Moscow, but I'm just curious as to what other people use to dry off out here, surely the whole country of Russia can't be using there old t-shirts, can they. This just brings me back to wondering, what were our hosts thinking by not having towels for use, especially since I have been asking every day for them. Maybe it's not there fault after all. Maybe in Russia, you have to stand in a long annoying line to get them, or maybe the towel is issued out to them by the government, and if you loose it, you have to get put on a waiting list to get a new one, and once again, wait in that long line. In any case, I have no idea why it was so hard to get us towels, but I was extremely excited to see them. It was as if it was Christmas morning, and I was that young eager boy again, just itching to use his new bicycle, but in this case, it was his new towel.

Minutes in, Leo got a board shot into his ankle, and it swelled up pretty good...can you say, bumming.

Regardless of the harsh course, A-Bomb still killed it. So Cairo made him a deal he couldn't refuse, two beers for a backside boneless...like taking candy from a baby, but in this case, it was beers from a Cairo.

It's hard work being this good, luckily for Adam, the reward outways the risk.

Adam even had a little time to give back to his many fans by having a Q&A, and signing some posters. Although, it was too bad for the kids, because it specifically states in his contract that he only has to answer 5 questions, and sign 25 posters per demo.

Product toss...weeeeeeeeeeeeee.

After the demo, the guys rewarded themselves with some fly infested kabobs.

As you know, we're in Russia. It started out a little harsh, but it's starting to come together. Hey, we may not have towels yet, but I do have a wireless internet connection.

Starting off the trip right. Leo and Adam, still partying from the night before. 5am beer chug before going to the airport.

Never one to slow down the party, Adam continues with his radness. Looks like he's goign to party his way to Moscow.

Looks like Leo's heavily into the party. I guess there weren't any lamp shades around, so he opted for a pillow case.

Keegan has been in Moscow for two days (long story), and it looks like he's adjusted very well.

Keegan even threw a cap of water in Adams face, must be a Russian thing.

Day ten, last day of the trip. I'll be the first to say it, I'm glad to be going home. This was by far the roughest trip to date. Rain and pain, would be the best way to describe the trip, kind of sounds like a Stallone movie.

Although the trip was rough, somehow we managed to find a portal to the future, and Cricket accidentily ran into himself. I hope future Cricket didn't slip the Cricket of now anything that could change the future. You saw what happened when aged Biff Tannen slipped that sports almanac to himself...this could spell trouble.

Shorty McGraw, huh? I know this is probably what you're thinking, because this is what I was thinking when I heard the storys about him this morning. This man seamed larger than life, even though he stood at a mere 5 foot 2, but believe me when I say that this man is truly a living legend. For starters, he's in a band called, "Awesome Faggots", and if that wasn't good enough, he roadies for a band called, "Lyin' bitch & the Restraining Orders". Are you kidding me, that right there puts this guy on legend status in my book. Not to mention, that last night he got beat up by the Bass player of the band he roadies for. Then, moments later, was broing down with the guy who whooped him up. This guy rips, plain and simple. Rumor has it, Shorty McGraw once roadied for 23 different bands in one night, ending it by tying scarves on microphone stands for Aerosmiths, Steven Tyler. It wouldn't surprise me if the great adventures of Shorty McGraw became as common as telling a Paul Bunyan story. So remember this name, Shorty McGraw, one of the last, true, living, American icons.

Today we left Salt Lake City, driving thru Wyoming, and straight to Denver. It was supposed to take 6 hours, but somehow we did it in about eight...rad. Actually, it's not all our fault, we did manage to drive thru some serious weather.

Day four starts, and it's to hot to get right into it, so we decide to go watch the Simpsons movie.

Leo couldn't stay up, but it's cool, this was the second time seeing the movie.

After the movie, we got to it. First stop, brown rail.

Then off to a random restaurant, where you have to order your food on a phone, and then when it's done, they'll call you back so you can then go pick it up...talk about over kill.

Got a bit of a late start, but it's ok, because it's so damn hot out in Utah. Honestly, I don't know how people could live out here and deal with this heat everyday.

O'Meally had the right idea, he came prepared with vacation clothes.

Fun little bank spot. Nestor got up in the mix.

Leo is such a rebel, he rides his bike everywhere we go. He's like the Mexican Fonz, aayyyy.

Then to a cool little signing down at Milo.

Before the siging, Raymond helped a kid put his board together. Good move Ray, I heard that your board sales are already going up in Utah.

After the signing, we headed back over to the park that we skated yesterday.

This is Utah's answer to the hubba.

We started out at the local skate park for a little warm up. Turns out, this is the park we're doing a demo at on the 31st.

There where some ruff locals at this park. I thought that it might turn violent, so we got outta there.

First spot...boo-yea.

Raymond was really feeling O'Meallys shooting style.

Checked this thing out, and believe me when I say, we'll be back.

We got back to the hotel around 10pm, and look who just rolled up. Leo pulled a lone wolf, and rode his bike out solo. I bet if
Stallones character, Marion "Cobra" Cobretti was real, this would be the kind of moves he would do.

Pros and Cons of being under 18. Pro: You get to stay in and eat all the candy you want, and hang with me because I'm a dad. Con: You have to stay back in the room with me, and just eat candy, because I'm an old boring dad. Either way, you're bumming.

Day two, and not a lot going on other than airport runs.

Hey look, it's our friend Adam Conway. Adam was really happy to let me know that he got a possession charge, and it's going to run him roughly, $580.00, even though he didn't actually have anything. Sometimes guilt by association is a harsh eye opener, buddy.

Day one: We started off at RVCA this morning for a long day on the road, that's right, straight to Salt Lake City...ouch.

Raymond trys out a new look at the first gas stop. If you ask me, I think he should run with it.

Another stop, right by an Active.

Whats a tour without a stop off at the Valley of Fire. This place rules, it's a super market sized fire works stand. They've got everything you could ever want, and then some.

Stu made a excellent choice, travel sized bag of Roman Candles...great success.

After seeing Harm's and Burn-dog's, getting there's, these guy's decided to step it up a notch.

Today's the last day in Quebec. We're driving back to Montreal for one more night before we go to the airport tomorrow morning. Before we hit the hotel, we tried to get some last minute shredding in.

Today we checked out of our hotel in Montreal, and drove to Quebec City, for a demo, and hopefully some street gnarling.

This is what we stumbled upon while getting the van this morning. The urban Sasquatch, Keegan Sauder.

We ran into a little traffic while on the drive.

Deanna was extremely shocked at what she saw inside the "Surprise Bag" that Ed, and Austin went halves on.

When Keegan's not shredding, he's alway's dressed and ready for swimming.

This was the warm up spot before the demo.

Keegan's definitely one of the raddest people I have ever met. We've been on this trip for ten day's now, and I believe he's stayed with us in the hotel for about two of them. One of the night's, he even slept on a park bench...he's a modern day nomad. He's alway's just on his own mission, and yet still with us for our's. If only his hat could talk, I'd love to here the adventure's. With that, I thought that Keegan's hat needed some rest, so we all gave it some quality head time.

Day ten, and perfect weather. The last two day's have been raining, so it's finally good to have a dry day again.

Here's where we started off the day.

Leo was on the phone trying to straighten out an issue with his debit card. He's also wearing his Larry King button down today, classy move little Larry.

This guy was at the spot as well. He was hitting hockey pucks into a can tied to a pole...only in Canada.

It's really cool when dad's support there kid's and take them to the park.

After the skate park annihilation, we headed over to do a signing at Atlas.

Second's after Ed drew this Transister Sect, this kid took it to the bank and cashed it for $3,500.00.

Well, once again, it's raining...DAMN IT! The only good that came out of the rain was that i let the guy's sleep in for the first time on the trip. Also, it gave me and the Burndog a chance to get some Tim Horton's...boo-yea.

Sometimes when eating donut's, a certain shame comes along with it.

Being that the weather wouldn't let up, we decided to go to a really kick ass, indoor park. Everyone, especially Keegan, was very excited about that.

Leo drilled a kid in the leg when trying a ramp to ramp transfer, and Ed fell down laughing...board sale's down.

After spending most of the day sitting in the hotel, we finally got out and did something fun. We went and saw Canada's own, "the Kids in the Hall", perform live.

Ticket in hand, and filled with excitement.

After hours of sitting and waiting in the hotel, the moment finally comes.

Day eight was looking promising, and then came the rain.

Today is Deanna's birthday, I only found out at the end of the day because she didn't want people making a big deal. Well all the same, happy 16 to you Deanna.

Today's the first real day in Montreal, as far as skating goes, and believe me when I say, this town has got some spots. We hit it, and we hit it hard.

By first glance, you might think that this was a Toy machine trip, but guess what? You'd be wrong.

Keegan and Leo nailed it.

Look out, it's Judah Oakes again. This time he's sniping photo's from a distance.

I bet if this where black and white, and shot by Ed with his Leica, he could sell this for 12-15 grand. Being that I shot it, it's pretty much worthless, and I'm pretty sure I'd have trouble giving it away.

Bro's on planes.

Seem's like every time I turn around, Harmony is signing to Leo.

Everyone was anxious to get checked in, and up to there rooms.

For dinner, our distributors thought that it would be a great idea to find a place that was Vegan & Vegetarian friendly, for all those who are. Lucky for us (mainly me), none of those types (The Templeton's) ended up going. I ended up getting the Roast Beef, it was delicious.

Today was another travel day, so not much other than flying. We flew from Vancouver, to Montreal.

Ever since that Scott Pommier photo of him looking like Cobra, we've been consuming a lot of time talking about the movie. Lucky for us, we found a double feature DVD of Cobra & Tango and Cash, so me and Leo went half's on it.

Keegan brought along the H-Street video, Hokus Pokus, so some of the guy's killed some time while waiting for our plane to arrive.
